Damore, Edward F., 81, retired store manager for Sherwin-Williams, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010. Funeral service, 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 22, Westlink Christian Church. Survivors include wife, Evelyn; sons, Richard Damore of Leawood, KS, David Damore of Reno NV, Donald Damore of Bellevue, WA; daughter, Gail Calvert of Wichita; brother, David Damore of Revere, MA; grandchildren, Jon Travis, Keith Travis, Jackie McGinnis, Matt Damore, Erica Lubbers, Julie Damore, Katie Damore; great-grandchildren, Connor McGinnis and Emma Katherine Travis. Memorial has been established with American Lung Association, 2024 N. Woodlawn, S-114, Wichita, KS 67208. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.

Gail, I hope I’m writing to the right Gail. This is Pat Fair/Howard. You were my maid or honor and I was stood up for you in your wedding many years ago. I happen to be reading the obituaries and saw the name Edward Damore and then saw the daughter Gail and I had to look the name up for age and sure enough it was right, so I was sure it was you. Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your father. I know it is a very painful time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Uncle Ed was a wonderful, fun man, more full of life than almost anyone I have encountered. I quote him regularly to Michael and Maddux–‘I’m older than you, so I’m smarter than you. I’ll always be old than you, so I’ll always BE smarter than you, and don’t you forget it’. We are deeply saddened by his death, and our thoughts are with you.
