Mark D. Deiter, 58, loving husband, father, grandfather, died Friday, November 25, 2022, after a courageous battle against brain cancer. Rosary will be at 5:00 pm, Monday, November 28, 2022; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Mark was born on December 25, 1963 in Wichita, KS to Norman and Marian Deiter. After graduating from Derby High School, he played football and earned a Mathematics degree at Friends University and later a Mechanical Engineering degree from WSU. He spent most of his career in aerospace, working at Cessna and Beechcraft. He finished his career as a director at Electrex Inc. Mark had a love of sports, coaching his son Grant’s teams for several years and officiating kids’ and high school football for over 20. Other passions of his included golfing and fitness, bringing him to complete numerous triathlons and establish a gym family that he loved. Forever young at heart, Mark brought humor and laughter to those around him, always teasing and pulling pranks. Along with his playfulness, he cherished quality time and caring for his loved ones, especially his wife Peggy, son Grant, and bonus kids and grandkids.Preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Marian Deiter.Survived by his wife, Peggy Deiter; son, Grant Deiter; step-son, Bret (Kelsey) Gross; step-daughter, Lauren (Bryan) Smith; grandchildren, Gwen, Perry, Owen, Madelyn, Beau; brothers, Alan (Reitha) Deiter, Greg (Tanya) Deiter; sisters, Sherry (Jeff) Skinner, Susan (Dean) Watson.Memorials have been established with: St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N.   5. It was with great sadness that Stella and I heard of the home going of my softball playing, tequila drinking buddy from years ago. Mark and the entire Deiter family was such an integral part and memories of my time in Wichita. To all the Deiter family, I believe Abraham Lincoln said it the best, “May our Heavenly Father assuage the anguish of your bereavement and leave you only the cherished memories of the loved and lost.”
