Phillis Jean Schumaker

Phillis Jean Schumaker, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 13, 2021. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Phillis was a retired Boeing Business Planner Executive Secretary. She formerly attended Eastminster Presbyterian Church, graduated from East High School and was a Wichita State University Alumni. Phillis enjoyed volunteering many hours at the Wichita Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Ella Hetherington; brother, Jack Hetherington; sister-in-law, LaDonna Schumaker; and husband, Frederick Schumaker. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Schumaker, nephew, Grant Schumaker (Cathy), and many friends. A memorial has been established with the Wichita Children’s Home, 7271 E. 37th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226.
