Jeremy Jachim
July 23, 2013
Jeremy Jachim, 39, passed away suddenly due to a motor vehicle accident in Kansas. Visitation with the family, 3-8 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2013, Downing Lahey Mortuary West in Wichita. He was born in Chicago and moved with his family to California in 1983. He was schooled in Pleasanton and then Danville, California, graduating from San Ramon High in Danville. As a young adult, his keen searching mind, broad interests and curiosity took him to several locations and occupations across this country. Following his interests, and with hard work, he earned a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from San Jose State University. Joining Cessna Aircraft in 2004, Jeremy took on increasing responsibilities, with early roles in hands-on aircraft service, and later ones in environmental health and safety compliance. Always developing, he earned a M.B.A along the way. By 2010, he was responsible for EHS across multiple sites in California, Arizona, and Texas. His latest assignment took him to Cessna in Wichita, Kansas, where as Safety Process Leader, he led safety culture change through data analysis, incident investigations, and compliance with industry standards. His dedication, broad skills, and leadership directly affected the lives of many people - those who flew in the aircraft and those that maintained and built them. His work also impacted the Earth in many places in our country - and thus touched even more people. His family always knew and followed his unfolding talents and interests. He was a self-taught guitarist in addition to an engineer and businessman. Jeremy is survived by his parents, Sandra Jachim and David Scheuing, and brother Christian Jachim and his family, all of Danville, California. He was a beloved uncle to Jade Gabriel Jachim. Jeremys aunt, Diane Jachim-Petroff, wife of Ted Petroff of San Diego, was his godmother. Jeremy was engaged to be wed to Ms. Jennifer Chasin at the time of his passing. Jeremy, we simply marveled at how you approached the arc of your life - with hard work, humor, and true concern for others. Even though that arc took you beyond where we can see, we know you can feel and see our love, and we have you and your love in our hearts and minds always.
