Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Harold was the first ‘good old boy’ that came into our lives when we moved here in 1981.Both Lois and Harold were there in a really bad part of my life.Even our childhoods were the same. He was my boss, my friend, and thru all these years my dad, and grandpa and shared so much wisdom and guidance. He worked so hard and would do anything for anyone. God had it planned to keep him in our lives, the boys and their Texoma fishing trips were rituals. I lost my Randy to cancer in June 2008, and I know the pain you are all having. Harold and Lois gave me the only bible I have ever had and I am desparetly searching for comfort. Tonight my tears on the pages will be for all of you. Thanks to God and your family for being part of our life. He is truly a blessing.

  2. Words cannot express how I feel about my Uncle Harold. He was a role model in many ways, for his brothers and sister, as well as everyone he touched throughout his life. I wish I could have known him longer in this life. As a child, I remember his visits to the house, playing checkers with my dad and allowing me to believe I was Maxwell Smart. He was a generous man with a very kind heart. He was one of the hardest working people I’ve ever known. He motivated me to do better for myself and to live out my dreams. His belief in me helped inspire me to attend the U.S. Naval Academy and become a pilot. I’ll miss him dearly, but look forward to meeting him again down the road in the end. Aunt Lois, Mike, and John- My deepest sympathy and regret that I cannot attend the service.

  3. What a nice guy ! Ive been at Star Lumber since 1981 an waited on Harold many many times helping him in the Plumbing & Electric Depts.Harold is truley one of the ‘Good Guys’.

  4. Beloved Uncle, My first memories were of your twinkling eyes, your sweet voice and laugh, your camera, cigarette hanging from your mouthyour stump of a hand, your loving arms. Though not by choice, you were the head of the family at too young of an age. As a father figure to your sister and brothers you were wise and looked up too. As a loving son, you were forever talked about and very much loved. As an Uncle to many, your visits were always held as a celebration that you were home. Your words were honest and straight forward. I remember your conversion. I was amazed and praised God. You supported me and my girls when we needed the support. You (and Lois) were there for us. God is blessing you with a crown of glory for all the people you have helped. Now you are with Our LORD and of course your beloved mother and brother. They have been waiting for you and you are praising God together. Till I see you on the other side. My love and respect, Sandy

  5. I just wanted to send a brief note saying how important Harold was in my life. When I was a young boy in early 1970’s, Harold provided me many opportunities and acted as a tremendous role model for me. Working side by side with Harold building houses, remodeling apartments, and painting, showing a work ethic that will forever be with me. He taught me so much about painting and provided me with many opportunities to bid on my own jobs. He was also responsible for me getting the opportunity to work at Hilltop Manor as maintenance during the summers in the early 70’s. He is truly one of those people who made a difference in my life. He was also a great friend to my own father. Thank you Harold. Mike Hageman
