Simon, Claryce J. (Cowie, Reece) On January 13, 2006, despite her LiveStrong attitude, lost her fight with cancer at home, surrounded by the love of her family. After retirement from real estate and Boeing, she became an avid gardener. Obtaining the status of Master Gardener for 10 years, volunteering to plant, cultivate or weed for anyone, but especially for her beloved Botanica. Our prayer is that Heaven has a few weeds for her and many beautiful flowers to cultivate. She was Preceded in death by her husband Richard Cowie in 1952 and Joseph Simon in 1976, by her son David Cowie in 2003. Survived by her daughter Karen Watts (Bruce), 5 grandchildren, John (Amy), Mark (Lori), Kevin Bertha. Richard Katie Cowie and 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jamie Rylie Bertha. Memorial service at 4:30 P.M., January 19, 2006 at Botanica, The Wichita Gardens. Private family burial service at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, KS. Memorials have been established with Botanica, The Wichita Gardens 701 N. Amidon Wichita, KS 67203 and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market Wichita, KS 67202. Downing Lahey East Mortuary.

  2. We wanted to express our sympathy to your family. Although we have become distant over the years, we have always thought well of Lloyd and Mable Reece and their family.   3. We’re sorry to have lost touch with our cousin, Claryce. She has an Aunt Erma Burgess living in Puyallup, WA. She also has six cousins, two, Norma Giefer, and Joyce Roberts,living in Puyallp Washington; one, Lynette Wilson, living in Yaak, Montana; one, Jean Kamberg of St. Louis, one, Jerry Higgins, in Leawood, KS and Bob Higgins of Salina, KA. All of us have tried to be in touch with Claryce over the years and are so she has passed before we were able to contact her. We are sorry for the loss of your Mother and grandmother.

  4. Karen, Mark, John, and Kevin, I saw Claryce’s obituatuary in the newspaper and want you to know that I am sorry for your loss. I remember her as a mother and grandmother whose life was very intertwined with yours and obviously loved you.
