Ferguson, Estel “Fergie”, 92, retired Beechcrafter, died Thursday, December 7, 2006. Service at 10 a.m., Monday, December 11, Mt. Vernon Methodist Church. Estel was born December 17, 1913 on a farm near Mulvane, Kansas. After high school, he moved to Wichita where he met and married the love of his life, Bessie K. Scott. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary July 4, 2006. He worked as a master scheduler for Beech Aircraft from 1941 to 1976, but was perhaps better known as a fisherman, watch collector, and tomato grower. Survivors: Bessie, sons Troy (Vonie) of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Neal (Roberta) of Reno, Nevada; three grand daughters Kathy (Mike) Moseley and children (Elizabeth, Michael, and Danny) of McHenry Illinois; Dawn (Joe) Bauml and child Joseph of Dallas, Texas; and Sarah Ferguson of Washington, D.C. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

  5. To Aunt Bessie, Troy, Neal and families: We regret that we not able to be at service for Estel but thought of you all that day and often since. Estel was a special uncle and I have many memories of fishing with him on Cow Skin Creek and the Ninnescah River, running trot lines and waking up every hour all night long to check the lines. His ball teams, on which I played, may have not won many games but we always stole watermelons on the way home. We never visited Kansas without making an attempt to see Bessie and Estel.
