Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
We are most saddened to hear of Dorothys passing. We could always count on a happy visit with her and Richard when we were back in Wichita. We will miss her. My memories of Dorothy are many, and all of them are good. I could always count on something extra yummy from her kitchen. And whenever she laughed, you just had to join in, because she made you feel so good. I remember being with Janice and a bunch of kids, jumping up and down on a bed in the basement on Terrace Drive. Suddenly the bed ‘sproinged’. I think we broke a spring in the mattress and I remember Aunt Dorothy wasnt very happy that time. But, she still treated us with goodies from the kitchen! I have always been comforted knowing that Dorothy and Richard were living in the house that my father built. They finished it and the yard so beautifully. Dorothys house always felt so homey and warm and happy. Richard and Raymond, Janice and Darrell, and of course to all of the rest of the family and friends who love Dorothy and who we dont know, we send lots and lots of hugs and wish you peace in your hearts. Dorothy is an angel; she served and gave joy to many on earth. ‘Heavens garden holds a new bloom.’ My family, mother Ilene and brothers Mike and Steve, send their regards and sympathies to you all. Sincerely, Carol Reed Mirabito
I will certainly miss my ‘second Mom’ who taught me to knit and crochet and was the hostess with the mostest at family reunions and all other gatherings. My love to Richard and Raymond at this sad time. She has been released to join sisters, brothers and others who have gone before.
Im so sorry to hear of Dorothys passing and my thoughts and prayers are with you. We all have many wonderful memories to remember her life – one she shared so generously with us. She was a great friend to me, in probably more ways than she realized – treating my family like her family. She added joy and happiness, and even took time to drive with me to Newton to visit my bedfast mother in the years before her death. She will be missed, but we wont forget her because we have lasting good memories. My love and best wishes to all the family. Ilene (Reed) Burkitt
