Davey, Gerald L., 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, February 8, 2009. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 ~ 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 11, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Service 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 12, Grace Lutheran Church. Interment 2:30 P.M., Thursday, Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS. Gerald was employed by Beech Aircraft for 42 years as a tool liaison and a prior plastics business owner. Gerald and Velma enjoyed fishing and retirement days in Texas. He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, and a decorated veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by his wife, Velma (Crawford) Davey. Survivors: step-son, Michael and Colleen Crawford of Wichita; step-daughter, Pat Meacham of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Fred and Gloria Davey of Kansas City, MO and Gordon and Mary Lou Davey of Osawatomie, KS; sisters, Mildred Diehm of Beagle, KS and Lola Keran of Lenora, KS; sister-in-law, Roseanne Jones of Wichita; grandchildren, Roy and Steve Meacham and Cassie Crawford; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Justin Meacham. A memorial has been established with Grace Lutheran Church, 3310 E. Pawnee, Wichita, KS, 67218.
Visitation with the family will be 5:00 ~ 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 11, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Interment 2:30 P.M., Thursday, Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS.

To Pat and Mike and Colleen; wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed Gerald Davey, I thought he was a very nice man and he was a good step-father to Pat and Mike, I remember when Pat went out with me and we meet up with tow guys and Pat went out with one, and didn’t make it home when I did, so my mother and I went over to there House to help fine Pat and Gerald was very concern but not mad. I thought then he was a very nice person. He always tryied to look out for Pat. I will miss gong over and visiting him,I will think of him often. God Bless you all, Mrs. carol Becker.
