Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Reading about the passing of LeRoy brought back a flood of fond memories from growing up on 16th Avenue. LeRoy and Agnes were part of the ‘village’ that helped raise me. I remember LeRoy jumping over the hedge and scooping me up in his arms when I had blood running down my face, I remember going to his work place where he kept trees, the chickens at Easter and the red chevy (I think) pickup. LeRoy was a wonderful man, who always had a smile and a joke to share. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

  2. Agnes, Val, Peggy, Becky & Bonnie: I just learned this afternoon about LeRoy’s death. I’m so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers during this time. I loved him – had I found out sooner I would have come to the services today & tomorrow, and am sad that I couldn’t get there. Agnes, you were always there for me! I visited Williston this spring and was planning to visit you and the old neighborhood, but learned only then from my brother John that you had moved. I had just recently asked Liz to try get a mailing address. I hope you get this note and know how much I have appreciated you and LeRoy throughout my life.

  3. Mr. Messer may have been the single most influential man in my life. I lost my father very early in life and he was the one who gave me a sense of being important, not abandoned. He helped me in so many ways – spiritually, emotionally, practically. I have thought of him fondly throughout my life, though was not able to see him often – but I always hoped I would see him once again … I loved him dearly. His smile and laughter are always there when I think of him – and the kindness in his eyes. I’m glad we shall meet again in Heaven.

  4. I was saddened when Delora let us know Leroy had passed on. I was blessed and fortunate to have lived next door in Williston to Leroy and Agnes for 10+ years. Leroy was always there to visit, joke around with, help me with my yard, compare whose flowers grew better. I’ve missed him a lot this last year. I am so glad that he was able to be around all his kids & grandkids this last year though, and I wish it could have been longer for your family. Leroy was a one of a kind. And I’ll always be thankful he was in my life.
