Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Father Allen was more than just my family’s parish priest while at St. Anthony’s in Garden Plain. He helped send my grandparents to their final resting place, held classes that my husband and I attended before marriage, baptised my husband, performed our marriage ceremony in 1992 and baptised all 4 of my children. He was so funny! I did learn one should never ask him what kind of beer he would like. After all, he is from St. Louis. He made the entire congregation laugh the day of our wedding. He was a very special friend and will be missed dearly. God Bless!

  2. Thinking of Father Allen brings a smile to my face. He was a frequent dinner guest of my grandparents, Al & Minnie Stump. He would play basketball with us when grandpa would take us over to St. Thomas and after Mass he was always smiling and joking with us. I’ve been away from the area for many years, but ran into him at the Wichita airport a couple of years ago. He hadn’t changed a bit. What a treasure! He will be missed.

  3. Father Allen was Kind & gentle, he had an inner peace that those around him could draw upon in their own lives. He taught and lived his faith quietly but firmly. I was allowed to work with him at Christ the King. Even though he has been gone from Christ the King for many years, he is still remembered with love and respect. He use to tease my dad that because dad was born on Christmas Eve he was one day older than Jesus. this comment always brought a smile to my dad’s face. I have many wonderful memories of Father and his many kindnesse.. I will miss him but I know we now have a special friend in heaven to intercede for us.

  4. Fr. Allen will be greatly missed by many. He was a very kind and holy priest, very Christ like in his relationships with people. I had the pleasure of working with him. He has been a personal family friend for many years. Our sincerest sympathy to Father’s family.

  5. It was with a very heavy heart that I heard of the passing of Fr. Allen. He was more than simply our parish priest, he was part of the family. I will always cherish my memories of him, not only during my wonderful years at St. Thomas but every year since. Christmas won’t be the same without a visit from Fr. Allen! He was loved by all and will truly be missed.
