Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I enjoyed Mr. Goetz’s weekly visit to Eberly Farm laboratory. He had a positive attitude and was always very nice and pleasant. He also usually had a smile and called us by our names. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. All of his family is in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Marilyn and family, We were so very sorry to learn of Jim\\\’s death and want you to know we are praying for you all. We have many great memories of our houses on Cedarwood next door to each other. Jim was always so cheerful and fun to talk to. We\\\’ll always remember his TALL tomato plants and the wonderful salmon he shared from one of his Alaska fishing excursions! May God comfort and strengthen you. Love, Kristy and Kent

  3. To Marilyn, We saw in the paper of Jim’s passing. Just wanted to send our condolences and to say we still have the picture he took of us with the Canadian Mountie and remember the fun we had on the bus trip. Our sympathy to you and your family. Sincerely Rose and Charlie Appleman Augusta.

  4. Cathie and I are truly sorry for your loss. Jim was one of the finest men I ever served with, we all will miss him but are better for having known him. He was the best First Sergeant I ever knew, I was really lucky. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. ‘WW’

  5. I used to call Jim ‘Old Soldier’ despite thye fact that we both knew he was an airman. He was a mentor to me and a man I greatly admired. It was no accident that I eventually followed in his footsteps as Senior Enlisted Advisor (Later State Command Chief) for the Kansas Air National Guard. His Obit didn’t mention it but he was inducted into the Kansas National Guard Hall of Fame many years ago. You can read his bio on line by looking up the KSNG Hall of Fame or come up to the KSNG Museum in Topeka sometinme and see his picture on the wall. A true patriot, there was simply none better and he and Marilyn are just such good people. I will miss him. The Kansas National Guard will miss him. His country is indebted to him.
