Dear Fred & Charles, I have just returned from a lengthy trip to Europe & was greatly distressed to hear about Clea’s death, especially so soon after Jene’s passing. He was a remarkable man who left his mark on everyone who had the good fortune to know him. He was particularly nice to me & his companionship on & off the golf course meant a great deal to me. I con- sider myself very fortunate to have known & enjoyed Clea’s friendship.
