Paul Devere Moyre, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 24, 2016 in his home. Paul had a gentle soul that was kind and patient. He is survived by his two children, Alana L. Moyer Titus of Lees Summit, MO and son, Hugh A. Moyer of Wichita, KS; two granddaughters, Carmen E. Titus, Kansas City, MO and Megan L. Titus, Lees Summit, MO; one brother, Duane Moyer, Chanute, KS, and two sisters, Dorothy Wolff, Kansas City, KS and Marjorie Urton, Ottawa, KS. As a young man, Paul served in the Korean War and subsequently pursued a career selling life insurance. He developed a passion for collecting antiques and all things primitive and spent many years traveling to California to share his treasurers with antique dealers and curious customers at Flea Markets. His charisma and skill for conversation resulted in a lifetime of stories that he readily shared with anyone who had a minute to listen. He enjoyed telling stories and jokes leaving everyone in suspense because he would start to laugh before reaching the punch line. Later in life he worked for a local grocery store where the highlight of the day was giving the little ones a "high five." Pauls favorite meal of the day was breakfast where he enjoyed his morning coffee and reading the paper while providing detailed instructions for meal preparation. Paul was devoted to his wife, Dorothy Mae (Dye) Moyer, married February 14, 1949, who proceeded him in death. Married for 65 years, together they embraced lifes journey. Also proceeding Paul in death, his parents, Albert Henry and Frances Alberta Moyer; and two brothers, Gene Moyer and Richard Moyer and one sister Doris Moyer. Family and friends are welcome to Pauls graveside memorial service on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, KS at 10:30 AM.
