Parsons, Martin T. “Marty”, 52, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011, after a brave battle with cancer. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 11:00 A.M., College Hill United Methodist Church 2930 E. 1st street. Marty was born August 27, 1959 in Wichita, Southeast High School alumni, graduated with honors from University of Texas in Arlington, worked in sales merchandising for several companies in Texas. Marty had a love for music and collected guitars. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved animals. He was an avid reader, loved to learn and enjoyed traveling. Preceded in death by father George Parsons grandparents. Survived by mother, Linda Parsons, sister, Caroline Brown both of Wichita, nephew, Adam Denning of Lawrence. Several cousins. Memorial to the Caring Hands Humane Society, 1400 Se 3rd Newton, Kansas. 67114.

  3. The world has lost another wonderful person. I met Marty through music. I played drums when everyone was just getting started with their instruments. You could tell Marty was the exception, he made everyone else play better around him.I remember one of his kind moments. My parents had moved to Houston Texas right after high scool, I was out on my own getting ready to start a new job and running out of money. We were at a mutual friends house coincedently and through conversation Marty realized what I was going through and took me to Wendy’s to get something to eat. That was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. God bless to his family and may he reside in heaven. From: Myles Sipe
