Howard Babcock, Sr. was an officer of the Sam Denney Road Machinery in 1957 when my brother and I bought it from the estate and renamed it Berry Tractor & Equipment Co. I met Howard, Jr. and Ruth at that time through Howard, Sr. and Beva. Such a gentleman! In recent years we would see each other at Eastminster every Sunday. Howard was always nattily dressed, in good spirits, and making the most of life. He carried his age very well–a model to all of us getting close. Such a gentleman!
Kent I am so sorry I could not be with you, a virus knocked me of my feet. If you find my book \\\’An American Woman\\\’s Zest for Living\\\’ you will find a picture of me with your dad on page 179 departing an airplane. It wasa promo for the Press Women\\\’s Scholarship Ball that we co-chaired. I was going to bring you a copy. They are availale at Watermark Book Store. But, he may still have had a signed copy. What a great mentor he was. From my college days to sharing when Ruth and Dick endured Alzheimer\\\’s. We had a good visit the week before he went to sleep. How forunate to have had him for so many years. –Donna Dilsaver
