The Rose Beyond The Wall – A. L. Frink Near a shady wall a rose once grew, Budded and blossomed in God’s free light, Watered and fed by the morning dew, Shedding it’s sweetness day and night. As it grew and blossomed fair and tall, Slowly rising to loftier height, It came to a crevice in the wall Through which there shone a beam of light. Onward it crept with added strength With never a thought of fear or pride, It followed the light through the crevice’s length And unfolded itself on the other side. The light, the dew, the broadening view Were found the same as they were before, And it lost itself in beauties new, Breathing it’s fragrance more and more. Shall claim of death cause us to grieve And make our courage faint and fall? Nay! Let us faith and hope receive– The rose still grows beyond the wall, Scattering fragrance far and wide Just as it did in days of yore, Just as it did on the other side, Just as it will forever-more. Very nice service…felt like I was there…thank you for knowing that there would be other’s beside myself who wished to be there…Love to my “Sis” Beverly, and my little “brother” and I am so sorry I have not got to know you Eric…I just wanted to share my favorite poem…
We have been blessed by Roy and his life in our lives. He was an open and cheerful man and we always enjoyed visiting with him! We wish we had taken his advice to make an Israel trip! We watched the service online and you family members who spoke did a great job sharing the life of your father. Lyle and Judy Jones
What a wonderful tribute to your Dad! Just finished watching. Your individual tributes, the music, Larry’s message; it was all so encouraging. My heart goes out to you all as you grieve the loss of your wonderful, faithful father. His certainly was a life well lived & his legacy lives on in all of his family. I will miss him knowing his presence is no longer in this world. But I’m looking forward to seeing him in glory where we’ll spend eternity together. Bet Roy & Gene are reliving all those Holy Land visits right now! My love to you all Janet Carlson
I appreciated the opportunity of attending on line Roy Howe’s service. The sharing of memories by family members and Pastor Larry Wren’s message reminded me of my own memories of Roy. He was one of the volunteers on the Facilities Management Team at Westlink Christian Church as I served as Director of Facilities there beginning in 1991. The reminders of his skills, hope and good ways were an encouragement to me today. I pray God’s comfort be there for you as family as you are encouraged by the memories in this time of loss.
