Pierce Andrew Sanders

February 21, 1984 ~ February 6, 2021
Pierce A. Sanders, age 36, Sales Associate, passed away February 6, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pierce was born on February 21, 1984, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of the late Larry Eugene Sanders and Linda Rose (Hoida) Sanders.
He started playing soccer at age 4 and moved to competitive soccer as he got older, playing for the Northwest Grizzlies for 4 years. He loved the game and was very competitive.
Pierce graduated from Northwest High School, Wichita in 2002. He then left for college and attended Kansas University and Wichita State University earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in August 2008.
As you can see from the years of schooling it took 6 years to get that degree, because Pierce was a people person and loved to have a good time thus stretching out the college life as long as he could!
Anyone that knew Pierce knew he had a big heart and would do what he could to help someone out.
He loved to travel and did not stay put in one place for too long. After graduating he helped with a little company his brother Mike and Mom started, selling hot tubs and swim spas. The owner of Aqua Haven came to Wichita to help with a hot tub show and ended up hiring Pierce away to be his store manager. That is when he moved to Oklahoma City. He lived in Oklahoma for 3+ years. He then moved back to Wichita to pursue a job offer from Canon USA. He stayed with them until they closed the office here in 2017. He said he needed a change and ended up moving to Colorado Springs. He remembered what a great place it was from a family vacation. He found a job there and started a new life but this past year he talked about moving again, possibly Kansas City, MO, or somewhere in Texas. He had a little gypsy in him; he just wanted to live everywhere and see everything!
Unfortunately, that was not in the cards and his life ended much too soon. He was a wonderful, loving, caring son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and remembered by all that had the opportunity to meet him along with that wonderful sense of humor, great smile and outgoing personality.
Pierce was preceded in death by his father, Larry; grandparents, Melvin Sanders and Robert and Gertrud Hoida, and Uncle Dan Sanders. He is survived by his mother, Linda Sanders, Maize; brother, Michael (Jennifer) Sanders, Wichita; brother, Matt Vestring, Wichita; grandmother, Leona Sanders, Wichita; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and the many, many friends he made through his travels!
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. The service will be live streamed at www.dlwichita.com.

I had the pleasure of growing up with Pierce. There’s nobody else quite like him. Such a character. You’ll be missed P-Man. RIP, buddy. ___ Kibbin
My deepest sympathies to Linda, Michael, and Leona. Although it has been years since I’ve seen Pierce, his ornrey smile will forever be with me. You will all be in my constant thoughts and prayers. Laura (Karr) Avila
Pierce, my handsome, fun loving, caring nephew, taken from us way too soon. We will always remember that great smile, crazy personality, and all the great times we had together. I will miss those late night calls from you every once in awhile when you were really really bored. We love you and will miss you so very much. Uncle Rayce and Aunt Sandy
Pierce is my cousin, when we were growing up he was more like a brother. When we were teenagers my parents were out so Pierce and a couple of his buddies had come over to my house. After being over for awhile my parents had come home early unexpectedly; before my parents were able to come in and find them they all climbed over the fence except for Pierce because instead of going over he had gotten stuck and was just hanging there! My step dad Rayce had to get Pierce down and we all just started laughing so hard. Pierce was always doing or saying something that would put a smile on your face or make you laugh. I hate knowing that I will never see him again and will never be able to get one of those big hugs he loved giving to the people in his life. We will miss you and forever love you Pierce, your cousin Stephanie Gleyre (Vodrey).
