David Eugene Ackerman, 58, Supervisor, CURO Financial Technology, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021. David graduated from Northwest High School in 1981, and moved to Reno to work in aircraft manufacturing at Lear Fan. In the U.S. Navy, David continued his technical education in aviation electronics, served his country, and traveled the world. Back in Kansas, he worked as a medical equipment technician at Wesley, and held other electronics and sales positions before joining CURO. David leaves behind his mother, Shirley; sisters, Linda and Jill; brother, Jim and his wife, Joan, as well as extended family in Wichita, Montana, and Seattle. He also leaves behind work colleagues and friends who will miss his companionship whether at the office, fishing trips, golfing, Chiefs games, or Friday nights in Old Town. Celebration of life service is 11:00 A.M. on Friday April 9, 2021, at St. Thomas Aquinas, 1321 N. Stratford Lane, Wichita. We look forward to getting together with you to remember David.   5. I have fond memories growing up with David and my other cousins. We had many get togethers in the summer and on holiday’s at David’s house. I recall his fun laugh as he often joked. David was a fun guy. Since moving away to Texas in the 90’s marrying and raising a family, unfortunately I’d had far less contact. You are missed David.
