I met you in 1968 when you fell in love with my sister Colleen, your first wife and mother of your children. I hope your are now together with her in a heavenly place. You were a wonderful brother and friend to me. Rest in peace brother.
I am truly saddened to hear of my Uncle Jerry’s passing. We was a great man. I have so great many childhood memories with him. My first camping trip was with Uncle Jerry. I thought it was the greatest thing, Devil’s Lake Wi. I was deathly afraid of fish, I will never forget Uncle Jerry was on a blow up raft and I was in the water and I thought I saw a fish by my foot. Uncle Jerry says, “ is that a Northern Pike?” Well, I believe I was 12 years old when that trip happened, so with all the force of a 12 year old, I flipped over that raft with Uncle Jerry on it. I was so afraid. He yelled at first, but I know he was dying inside and wanted to laugh his butt off. He has just been flipped off a raft by a scared 12 year old little girl. Another memory, involving fish again, cousins trip to aunt Kathy’s resort. I believe it was cousin Laurie and I being pulled on a tube with Uncle Jerry’s boat, and what happens, a fish comes up through the water, while on the tube between Laurie and I. Well, I was about ready to ditch my cousin and let the fish have her! Lol He had the best boat! From what I remember. All the drives to Round Lake Beach or meet half way to pick Jerry and James up. He would actually drive to my children’s birthday parties, or big events that I had. Sometimes I would call just to say Hello, get advice, or just small talk. I respected him! Uncle Jerry I love you, you will be missed and please give Aunt Colleen a big hug and kiss from me!
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of a wonderful friend. We have shared so many great times together. Our sincere condolences to Nicole and family. Sida Lia and Roger Bys
