Connie Louise (Maier) Gleason

Connie Louise (Maier) Gleason, 87, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021. She was born May 22, 1934, to Christ and Barbara Maier. She was raised on the family farm in Linton, ND, where she graduated from Linton High School in 1952. She married Merrill Ron Gleason on October 27, 1956. After Ron completed pharmacy school, they moved from the NDSU campus in Fargo, ND, to Bismarck, ND. They lived there for 2 years, then moved to Minot, ND, for 1 year. In August of 1969, they relocated to Wichita where they raised their three children. They had been married 63 years when Ron passed on February 19, 2020. Connie enjoyed a long career in the Wichita Public Schools as an Office Assistant and retired in 1999 to be a full-time grandma. She loved being at the ball fields, the soccer fields, or anywhere she could be with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many wonderful friendships from those days, and from her time working in the public schools. She loved having lunches and fun adventures with those amazing ladies until her passing. Her family is so grateful to them for their kindness and support. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Christ and Barbara Maier; husband, Merrill Gleason, and brother, Chris Maier. Survivors: daughters, Becky Ottman of Wichita, Amy (Rob) Cleavinger of Baldwin City; son, Kent (Tricia) Gleason of Wichita; grandchildren, Aidan (Jerrod) Gearhart, Garrett (Helen) and Grant Cleavinger, Dane and Drew Ottman, Ryan and Cory Gleason; great-grandchildren, Sayler and Briar Gearhart. Rosary, 9:30 a.m.; Funeral Mass, 10:00 a.m., both Friday, December 10, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Music Theatre Wichita, 225 W. Douglas Ave., #202, Wichita, KS 67202 and Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
