Mary Louise Kidwell (Shea) passed away on January 10, 2023 in Wichita, KS.Mary was born June 19, 1941 in Anness, Kansas. She was the youngest of six children, including RoAnn, Timothy, Daniel, Patrick and Edmund. Her parents, Clifford Shea and Mary Eva Shea (Rau) moved the family from Anness to Wichita.Mary Lou attended St. Joseph Catholic grade school in Wichita and then attended Mount Carmel High School. She met Kenneth D. Kidwell while working at Southwestern Bell in downtown Wichita. They were married May 13, 1961 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.Mary Lou and Ken moved to Denver where their first child, James, was born in 1961. Soon after Mary Lou and Ken were blessed with their second child, Eric, in 1964.Throughout her lifetime Mary Lou worked several rewarding jobs; including but not being limited to: Secretary for the District Court in Boise, Idaho; Administrative Assistant for several leaders at Northrop Grumman in Southern California; Assistant Foreign Student Advisor at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque; Assistant to the Vice President at Heath and Company in Anaheim California; and at Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas, where she began temporary retirement. It is also important to note that during this period Mary Lou was Office Manager for Eric J. Kidwell, Attorney and Counselor at Law, LLC in Wichita, Kansas for over 13 years.Mary Lou is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Ken, her son James and his two daughters Kerry and Alana, her son Eric, her brother Daniel A. Shea and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Rosary will be at 6:30 pm, Sunday, January 15, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Monday, January 16, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

I will always cherish the memories and the wonderful stories that she told us that all she did for us and for Sarah, I will miss her dearly, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you.

  5. Eric, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I am behind on my reading of the Wichita Eagle obituaries. Your mother was a pleasure to talk with when she came to the courthouse to file papers as your office manager.
