Dominic Nabil Nicolas David Bacha

March 2, 1998 ~ February 19, 2023
Dominic Nabil Nicolas David Bacha, 24, joined Our Lord Jesus, Sunday, February 19, 2023, after suffering a sudden acute illness. Dominic was born in Wichita, March 2, 1998. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School and Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. He participated in many activities including God Squad, Catholic Youth Ministries (CYM), Prayer and Action, Teens Encounter Christ (TEC), Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed chess; lettered in bowling; and was a regular star in band and choir. He was incredible at playing the trumpet by 5th grade and was a proficient pianist. He shared his talents with the church community weekly as a cantor and pianist at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
From a young age it was evident, Dominic was destined for the stage. He had a beautiful voice and held leading roles in his school musicals during 7th and 8th grade. His Music Theatre for Young People performances included High School Musical 2, Children of Eden, Godspell Jr., All Shook Up, Cinderella, Aladdin Jr., Suessical, Once Upon a Mattress, and Sweet Charity. Music Theatre of Wichita performances included Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, and King and I. He spent two years at Newman University and participated in Newman’s music theater program, including a role in The Spirit of Father Kapaun.
Later, Dominic enjoyed being part of several gaming groups including Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon Go, and Dungeons and Dragons. He also enjoyed playing poker and Catan with his brother and friends. The past year was the happiest of Dominic’s life. He enjoyed his dog Elton John, his job as Driver’s License Examiner for the DMV, his apartment, his new truck, and his friends.
If you knew Dominic Bacha, you might know that he didn’t like vegetables, he had clammy hands, and he most always wore socks. If you ever met Dominic, you knew his great laugh, his amazing smile, gentle spirit, and his kind heart. Unknown to his family, Dominic had registered to be an organ donor. As his last unselfish heroic act, he donated his corneas and retinas that will give the gift of sight to up to four people.
With his infectious smile, he is watching over his parents, Nabil and Tammy Bacha, brother, Devin Bacha, and sister, Camiela Bacha; his grandparents, Charles and Lila Wheeler; uncles, aunts, and cousins; plus, many friends, gaming partners, classmates, and coworkers. He is united in death with his grandparents, Nicolas and Kamla Bacha and his uncle, David Bacha. His blue heeler, Elton John, Dominic’s faithful canine companion, lost his battle with cancer last week, as well. Dominic, our beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend will be greatly missed. A memorial has been established with: Envision Foundation, P.O. Box 131, Wichita, KS 67201-9922. Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.
My prayers are with your family. I wasn’t lucky enough to teach Dominic during his time at SFA, but his smile in the hallways was always infectious. The pictures below are copies from the yearbook his 8th grade year, both his 8th grade portrait/kindergarten collage, and then the other photo was taken during an impromptu acting activity during a field trip to the Museum of World Treasures that year. Many prayers being sent your way.
We send our love ❤️ to all of you during this difficult time. We love you, and we will get through this togther!

When we were in 8th grade and practicing for the play, I was sitting in a wooden box waiting for a cue to pop out. Instead, Dominic and another friend sat on top of the box and pushed me into the bathroom, under the handrail in the big stall so I was completely stuck. He was laughing the entire time and trying to hide that it was him but his laugh was too recognizable and made me giggle so hard. He was immediately a friend for me in the new place of theater, and it was so fun to watch him perform.
What a great memory!
Thank you so much for sharing that.
It seems like something my goofball would do!
The Bible provides an encouraging message of hope at Rev 21:4 to …”wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore”…I’m hopeful that God’s promise of a better future brings you comfort and hope. Sorry for your loss.
What a great young man, went to school with several of our kids at BC and the last time I saw him was last year when he helped my son, Michael get his license. Our heartfelt condolences to the family.
I am heartbroken to hear of Dominic’s passing.
I have such fond memories of him eating his crossiants in his high chair at Cafe Bel Ami. He would always share with me.
I was always so happy when Tammy would bring the kiddos down to the restaurant. Lovely. Beautiful children,
May God bring you comfort and peace.
Sending my love to you all.
