I would see your Dad at the NBC games from time to time and I loved talking baseball with him. My younger brother, Billy Whittle, played for coach Sawdy. Bruce may remember him. I got to coach with him when I was 18, I learned a lot from him. May he rest in peace. Jay Whittle
A dear friend and mentor for many years at Boeing and Spirit. He will be missed.

I was fortunate enough to work with David on a number of projects at Boeing. He was a great mentor and friend. I had the opportunity to travel with David a few times and it was always fun. I even had the honor of having dinner with David and Twyla in Arlington, TX on one trip. Memories of his stories and his laughter will always be cherished.
I am currently quarantined because of Covid exposure, but wanted to let his family know that Dave was one of the first people I worked with at Boeing in 1970. We worked together on some of the first noise reduction research to make airliner engines quieter. We were both interested in the history of World War II, and read many books on the Pacific Naval Battles and other WWII histories, and would discuss them over lunch. I remember reading the 5-volume History of World War II by Winston Churchill with Dave; it was a slog as the books are big and thick, but we worked through them and had a great time. We also traveled together quite a bit, to NASA facilities to report on research contracts we were conducting for them, and to Seattle to report on internal research. He was enthusiastic about work, and even more so about his children and about Twila. He loved his family very much and was quite proud of all of you. It was my honor to have worked with him so closely those first several years of my Boeing career. I learned a lot working with and being acquainted with Dave and respected him professionally and as a friend. Bless you all.
David was an amazing man. I could talk baseball with him for hours. Nothing he enjoyed more than watching his kids and grandkids play ball. The world lost a good one. Makes me smile to know he is back with Twyla. Rest in peace David and Twyla
