Rick always demonstrated the love of Christ. For a significant moment in time, Rick and Debbie were like second parents to me. They always believed in me. Rick did not subscribe to failure; he was an eternal optimist, and I’ll always be honored by his love, his friendship, and his encouragement. Sending my love to all of you- a Debbie, Bekki, Dusty, Natalie, Scott.
Rick is one of those people you never forget. I remember seeing him walk across the street from his car to his condo in 2011. I had not thought of him since leaving Hutch Juco in 1970 where we both attended and I immediately said that’s Rick Slater. I didn’t really know him then, but was impressed that he was in Honors Calculus and ran around with some friends I had made from Hutchinson. I have since admired his leadership skills as he navigated the HOA presidency. He was always so caring, while dealing with difficult situations. His caring and dedication to Junior golf always left me feeling so grateful to know and be in relationship with a great human. Good speed my friend, you will be missed but not forgotten.
Rick Slater was a wonderful friend to have, a positive influence in so many people’s lives over his years, including mine.
Although he will be missed here in this life, it is comforting to know that eternal joy is now his in the presence of the LORD.
May God bless and comfort you, Debbie and family, and give you His peace now
and always.
Rick was a generous man of honor. He had a dry sense of humor and a gentle genuine goodness about him.
He cared. A commodity which can’t be purchased.
He was helpful to those in need.
He will be greatly missed.
Thoughts and prayers for his family. Hold fast to the many wonderful memories you have of him. Those memories will always be there for you to enjoy.

Rick was a great guy. Very interesting and engaging. I worked with him at the Arena and I always knew if he was on my team the job would be done well. Love to you, Debbie and family. May your tender and sweet memories hold you up going forward.
