Mark is a friend, a colleague and so much more. I have had the honor to know him and Lanis for 25 years and I count myself as very fortunate to say that. He will be sorely missed by so many but his presence will continue to be felt.
Mark, my friend and colleague, had an infectious laugh that seemed to lighten the mood even on the toughest days in the office. He was always there to help out, whether it was for work or personal. Mark will be deeply missed, but his impact on my life and many others will always be remembered.
God Speed Mark! RIP and prayers/condolences for Lanis, Reece, Grace and the family. You will be missed.
Mark was a great colleague and friend, who would always put others before himself. He stood up for what is right, he was authentic, passionate, had a great sense of humor, and an even bigger heart. One would only need to know him for a little while to be made feel like a long-time friend.
Rest in peace, Mark. You are one of those special people who will never leave us, even after they’re gone.
Rest in peace brother! You were more than a friend, you were family! Mark didn’t call me by name, he called me sister! He was always watching out for me and was there whenever I needed him! Mark was so smart! I could listen to him for hours with amazement of what he knew and could remember! You will be dearly missed Mark! I and everyone else are better people because of you! Until we meet again in heaven! Rest in peace!
Mark you will be dearly missed. I feel honoured to have worked with you and gotten to know you as a friend. I will forever cherish our conversations and discussions. I also truly believe you will be with us in spirit as we continue to pave the way as you envisioned it to be.
All my love to the family; Mark was truly a great person.

It’s funny, you’d think I’d have more pictures or more easily compiled memories, but I don’t. Being an amazing, unique, unapologetic, boisterous, and imperfect human is just a few of Mark’s many traits. While we wish he were still here, I for one can say he has left an everlasting impression on my life and will always hold a special place amongst my memories. Mark was more than a colleague, and a friend, he was part of the fabric of the Bombardier Family that I have considered my home (regardless of physical location) for the past 13 years. Always available for a chat to talk you off the proverbial edge, -OR- pile on and reinforce the injustice of your experience. I, for one know he was, and I like to think still is, in our corner cheering us on ensuring we are putting forth our best foot forward and being the best possible humans, we can be; because Mark Hembree looked after his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this impossible time. Rest in peace my friend, Jessica Istas.
Mark your wit and candor will be sadly missed at Bombardier.
Mark you are dearly missed. I have only known you for a few years but from the minute I got to know you I had your support. You called me your “little sister” and in many ways you really were a big brother supporting, encouraging and pushing me to take steps I didn’t think I was ready for but you knew I was. I am really fortunate to get to know you even for a short time and I will miss having you in my corner.

I thourghly enjoyed working alongside Mark during his assignment in Production Flight. He always listened and considered advice offered. He had a way of making people laugh during trying times. The Learjet (Bombardier) family has lost a great asset. He will be missed by all.

My heartfelt condolences to Mark’s family. I met Mark during my first aircraft build at Bombardier in Toronto in 2017. He always had a way of commanding the room, ensuring that the right things got done as soon as possible. We may have started out as colleagues, but I considered him a friend. He was always in your corner – providing stellar references, telling you to follow your dream or sending best wishes for my wedding. I am thankful to have had the honor of meeting and working alongside Mark.
Mark I thoroughly enjoyed our time working together in flight test. You were always larger than life and I learned so much from you. You always had a hearty laugh and were honest and open. I was glad I got to sit beside you again for a bit in the last few months.
May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face. May the rains fall upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
I had the privilege of working with Mark on the new aircraft program at Bombbardier in Toronto, his down to earth approach at managing his people and program was like nothing I seen before he was more like a football coach calling the plays, and it worked, in that time I got to know him personally as well as he loved telling me stories about his life back home, and love to compare it to life here Ontario lol, He was a great man, and with truly an extra kind heart, my sympathies and deepest condolences to his family, the world lost a special man, may you rest in peace bud. It was a real honour and pleasure knowing you.
Jason.
Mark was such a great friend. He did everything he could to make sure we had a safe airplane to fly, every single time, with no compromises. He was a genuinely giving and caring person that was always there to help out, whatever you needed. He will be deeply missed, but I am fortunate just to have known him.
Mark left an unforgettable and unmatched dedication and leadership in Toronto during FTV days. May his soul rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers for his family.
Mark was an incredible person, highly professional with a great humanity, he will be deeply missed, but he will not be forgotten.
I’ve never come across anyone like Mark in my career. His passion, energy and character lifted those 7500 FTVs into the sky. Mark made those hectic late nights / early mornings of FTV troubleshooting fun and enjoyable. You will be greatly missed Mark.
So very sorry to hear this sad news! I met Mark during the DHC8-400 FT program at BFTC. He was the true definition of a team player. He always went out of his way to make you feel included. His passion and support to make things happen was infectious! No matter how much time passed from the last time you saw him he always made you feel like it was yesterday. You will be dearly missed Mark. RIP buddy!
Deniece, Marvin and I was truly and deeply sorry to hear of this. Our prayers are with you and the family as you navigate this heartbreak. Only fond memories of little Mark.
Mark and I worked closely together during development of the global 7500. Upon hearing I missed the first flight due to a work trip, without hesitation he offered a front row seat for the second flight – I wish I could’ve taken him up on the offer but the gesture was very kind. He was a very admirable man and will be missed by many. May his memory be eternal.
Mark was a true Crew Chief: Direct, Determined, Fiery. He knew his stuff, and he made sure things were done right.
I worked with him on both the LJ85 and Global 7500, and a few of other programs before that.
My condolences to the family and the Wichita aviation community to which he belonged.
