Bryan Coulter

February 17, 1961 ~ December 3, 2023
Bryan Coulter, 62, Director of Finance and Administrative Services of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, died Sunday, December 3, 2023.Funeral Vigil will be at 7:00 pm, Wednesday December 6, 2023; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 7, 2023, both at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church. Bryan’s life was defined by the three theological virtues that were infused in his soul at the moment of his Baptism: Faith, Hope, and Charity. His deep love of family grew when he married Jodi in 1987, and God blessed them with 6 children, each a reflection of their parents’ Faith and Love. Every Sunday was a celebration of family with all gathered around the dinner table to pray together, share a meal, swap life’s stories, and fill the room with laughter and love. Bryan’s quick wit and humor were legendary and created memories and stories that will be shared around the family table for years to come. Each child was blessed to share in their own treasured relationship with their dad, who always seemed to have the answer to any problem and celebrated their every joy. He never ceased to express his gratitude to the Father, more often than not with moist eyes. After almost every Sunday dinner, Bryan and his son, Fr. Isaac would retreat to the back deck. While looking at the stars they would talk about the resurrection of the body into the New Earth and what it would be like. He looked forward to being with everyone forever in all of the beauty he’d already experienced. Spending several years on the Diocesan finance council with Bryan, I came to appreciate and look forward to his knowledge, his wit, and his compassion. He will be greatly missed no doubt by his family, friends, Parish and Diocese. Rest in Peace Bryan.
The wife of Bryan is my cousin. I want to send my sympathies to her and her family. It is so tragic and sudden. My hope and pray that her and her family find the strength to carry on.
