Susan was my walking buddy. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She loved life, her son Ryan, and her cat pumpkin. I miss our walks and talking to her. RIP Susan. You are so missed.
Dearest Ryan, Carol, and family,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother and sister. I was heartbroken to hear the news of her passing. I met Susan in college. She was a dear sorority sister and friend of mine. She sang at my wedding in 1977. What a beautiful voice she had! I had a call from her the Monday before her death that I unfortunately missed. She sounded well and cheerful, communicating that she had a wonderful Thanksgiving and wanted to visit with me about mine. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I cherish the phonemail message she left for me and I’ve re-played it several times, just to hear her cheerful voice. She was always such a pleasant and caring person and I treasure our times together. I would occasionally see her at my workplace (Via Christi-St Francis), when she and I were both still working and we’d chat briefly in the hallway. When she retired, I invited her to attend our smaller group sorority sister luncheons, and we always looked forward to seeing each other. I would reach out to her before each gathering and she would consistently call me the day of the luncheons to assure I was still meeting her there. We always met each other at Alpha Phi Founder’s Day events and always sat together, including this past October. I truly treasured our friendship over the years and loved her deeply. I know how much she loved you, Ryan, and you, Carol, and all of her family, as well as her pets. She was a remarkable woman, mother, nurse, nursing instructor, and friend. How very blessed I am to have had her in my life. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Peace and love,
Marilyn Kelly-Browne

Susan was a great colleague in the College of Health Professions at Wichita State University. She was always smiling and always stopped to say hello. She will be missed. Doug Parham
I’m so saddened to learn of Susan’s passing. She was quite special to me when we were in college at WSU many years ago. I was blessed to see her and spend time with her at our Alpha Phi Founders Day this past October. She was truly a kind sweet soul, sister and friend. My deepest sympathies and prayers for peace and comfort to her family. My heart grieves with you.

I was saddened to hear of Susan’s death. We go way back to high school where we played in band and orchestra together. We reconnected in our late 20s when we were both single. She was always welcoming, kind and a listening friend.
I knew Susan during our time in SE High Band. She was smart, talented and kind. Very sorry to hear of her passing.
