Virginia “Ginny” Mae Lacy, 96, passed away April 6, 2024 surrounded by family. The rosary will be held Sunday, April 14 at 5 pm and the funeral, Monday, April 15 at 10 am, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Ginny was a loving wife, caring mother and wonderful grandmother to so many. She loved to bake, garden, cross stitch, read, and was a devout Catholic. She was the rock of the Lacy family and is greatly missed by many.Born in Red Oak, Iowa on December 15, 1927, Ginny grew up on a farm and was involved with many school activities. She ended up in Omaha, NE where she met her husband, Robert “Bob” Lacy. Together they had 6 children and raised them in the historic Field Club neighborhood of Omaha. After everyone had moved out, they moved to Bellevue, NE for retirement, and eventually ended up in Wichita, KS to be closer to their daughters.Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Arvid and Hulda Landstrom; her husband, Robert Lacy; and three of her children, Terri Baumert, Mary Hartigan, and Tom Lacy. She is survived by her children, Pat Lacy (Susan) of Omaha, NE, Susan Coleman of Wichita, KS, and Nancy Taylor of Wichita, KS; her sons-in-law, Rich Baumert of Dodge, NE, and Daniel Hartigan of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; her daughter-in-law, Doreen Lacy of Lee Summit, MO. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.A memorial has been established with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford, Wichita, KS 67206.Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
