Billy “Bill” Dean Waymire, age 92, passed away on April 19, 2024. He was born on December 27, 1931, in Howard, KS. Bill proudly served on active duty in the US Navy during the Korean war (1952 to 1956). After his military service, he dedicated himself to a career with the US Postal Service. Bill will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his surviving family, including his daughters, Rashelle R. Standley (Gary) and Mona D. Kelso (Robert); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Linda Hamby; and brother, Steve Waymire. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelby; parents, Arlie and Emily Waymire; sister, LaDonna McFarland; and brothers, Jerry Waymire and Ronnie Waymire.A visitation with the family will be held at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary (6555 E Central Ave., Wichita, KS 67206) on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. The memorial service will take place at First Baptist Church (200 W Kansas Ave., Greensburg, KS 67054) on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 am.Bill was a man of God and devoted member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Greensburg, KS. A memorial has been established with The First Baptist Church of Greensburg Kansas, 200 W Kansas Ave., Greensburg, KS 67054.

This is Diana Ellison Comstock I just want to say how sorry to hear of Bills passing, for us but not for him, I know he is in heaven with loved ones, in a much better place he was a saved by grace follower of Jesus, we always loved seeing him and Shelby and you girls, mom was aunt Evelyn’s sister, she is 90 now.
