So so sorry to hear of your loss of Bill! He was such a great guy, always so cheerful when I saw him at the care home! My sons, Brad and Jeff, and I will never forget the Holloweens in Peg and Bill’s garage while they were growing up! They were always our best memory from 34th street! He had a great long life but he will be so missed! Please know that you will all be in my thoughts and prayers! With love!
Moving to 34th Street and not even moved in yet, an older gentleman and his wife drove up to the house in their convertible. He introduced himself and wife and said he had a favor to ask of me. Of course I said yes asking what could I do. Bill said he had a piano to move and needed some extra hands. An hour later I show up to their house and invited to the basement expecting to see a piano. Bill lead me to the bar and said he didn’t really need help, just a friendly face to have a drink with. I gladly obliged him for the next couple hours where we laughed, shared war stories, and made memories that last even today. The many Halloween parties, porch visits, morning coffee around the dining room table, and helping each other made for a wonderful neighborhood atmosphere. He was one of kind and truly loved by many.

So many wonderful memories visiting with Bill and Peg on my drives back to KS. Always welcoming and enjoyed a toast downstairs at his bar. Rest in Peace and reuniting with Peg!
November 2023 was my move in date at VCA assisted living. Deb was the first person I met when I had my first visit and it was as if we’d know each other since high school and that is the way Bill treated me. He’d invite me in with or without Deb and the stories he would tell. He brought out the ornery teenager in me. He was always full of joy and Orneryness. I feel blessed to have known him. Paula
One of my favorite memories is when I worked for the city of Wichita and I had a lift station that was by Bill and Peggy’s house. When ever I was there I’d walk down to the house to say hello and as always Peggy and Bill were delighted to see me, Bill would always take me downstairs and I’d sit at the bar while he gave me a “refreshment” and would tell me stories of the good ole days.
I recently lived at via Christy Ridge where Bill lived too. He always came down and checked on Debbie, and if I was in the area he checked on me too. I’d I walked by his apt, there was no way I couldn’t go in if he saw me. He had so many stories and of course advice. I learned so much from him, and he will definitely be missed!
My parents always enjoyed spending time with the Bill & Peggy. Bill always had a great sense of humor along with a good dose of ornery shenanigans ! He was definitely one of the “good guys”. Thinking of your family-
