Our Mom, Pamela Sue Keyes (Enterline), left this earth on February 16, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Anthony, KS, on May 13, 1944, she grew up in Mooreland, OK and was the daughter of Rex & Marj Enterline. After high school, she moved to Oklahoma City and met her husband of 56 years, Cliff Austin Keyes, and eventually settled in Newton, KS. Together they raised 3 daughters, Anastasia, Abigail, & Allison, while he ran his own business and she started her career in Nursing.

It’s hard to find words to describe such a powerhouse of a woman. Incredibly driven, she was a Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s Degree; RN/BSN in Nursing from Wichita State University (1983), APRN-NNP from SDSU (1990), Masters in Nursing WSU (1997). She loved her job & her babies & worked at Wesley Medical Center for 24 years, both in the NICU & on the LifeWATCH neonatal transport team. She retired early to care for our Dad, who was the 2nd person in Wichita to receive in-home dialysis, 6 days a week, and never once complained. We know for a fact she’s the reason he lived so long after his initial cancer diagnosis.

She loved traveling, and some of our favorite trips were skiing in Colorado & spending time in New Mexico. She took up running in her 50s and ran dozens of races, often finishing in the top 3 in her age group. She was an avid sports fan, excellent cook, and a voracious reader. One of her greatest loves, aside from her grandkids, Jake (Courtney) & Caleb, & great grandson, Cayden, was rescuing dogs, many of them Seniors, and spoiling them rotten for the few years they had left on this earth.

Preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Marj Enterline, brother, Terry Enterline, her husband of 56 years, Cliff Austin, daughter, Anastasia Lynn, & her rescues dogs, Buster, Chancey, Jack, Mandy, Prada, Princess, Gracie, & Muriel. Survivors: Abigail Keyes of Dallas, TX, Ali Keyes (Tommy Smith) of Wichita; grandsons, Jacob (Courtney Reimer) Clark of Newton, Caleb Smith of Wichita; great-grandson, Cayden Clark of Newton. Brother & Sister In Laws, Tim & Judy Keyes of Olathe, KS, Max & Kathy Kirkendoll of Lenexa, KS, Elgin & Sandy Strahm of Grove, OK, MaryBeth Keyes, of KCK, Marilyn Fussell of Mooreland, OK, several nieces, nephews, and amazing friends, many of whom helped her get through this last stage of life.

Mass will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Graveside prayer following the mass at Ascension Cemetery, 7200 East 45th Street North, Bel Aire, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, Pam requested donations be sent to Beauties and Beasts, Inc of Wichita, beautiesandbeasts.org

Guestbook

  1. I am stunned by this news.
I met your Mom, Pam, and Dad, Cliff, the first day of 1964, when my newly wed husband and I moved into our very first home together in Overland Park. It was a fourplex (four apts. on one level, under one roof) and brand new apt. where Pam and Cliff were the first & only residents at that time. They welcomed us wholeheartedly and we became fast friends from the start. They were recently wed also but had welcomed baby “Stasia” to their family. Later, while pregnant with our first child, we moved to a duplex across the street where Pam & Cliff had recently moved, which added an additional bedroom for both of us. I have such fond memories of the fun and laughs we had comparing notes of soap operas, playing cards, shopping, long stroller walks to “downtown” Overland Park, & the opening day of Overland Park’s first shopping mall, Metcalf South.
I sorely missed them a year or two later when they moved to Newton and sadly lost track of them after that until about two years ago when I looked Pam up on FaceBook. We messaged back and forth a few times. It was then I unhappily learned that Cliff and Stasia had passed away. Please know, your Mom was such a bright, lovely, unpretentious person who I admired greatly and shall never forget.

  2. So sorry for your loss. Pam was one of my favorite people! She had such compassion and love for people and dogs. I had the honor to be Cliff’s nurse through many years of home hemodialysis and partner with him/her in his care. She was a powerful woman who loved her husband and family with such a passion and it was through her efforts that he had many more years on this earth. I admired her greatly. She will be missed Sondi Kihle

  3. Abby, we are so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother. She had such an amazing and impressive life. Thinking of you and sending lots of love and prayers.
