Alan Al Roberts

Alan J. “Al” Roberts, 63, golfer and business owner, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at his home. Rosary, 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 5; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 6, both at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Al led an active life with many interests. He began his career after graduation from Ft. Hays State University in 1972. He worked for Brown-Williamson for nearly 20 years and started and operated many other businesses over the years. He was a fan of all sports including baseball, basketball and golf. Just for fun, he was a high school and college football and basketball referee for many years. Al was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Roberts, and his father, Edmond Roberts. Al is survived by his three children, Kristin Roberts Conrad, Ashley and Aaron Roberts; his mother, Rita Roberts; 4 grandchildren; his siblings, Kaylon, Denis, Larry, Ronald and Daniel Roberts and Lucinda Miller.
