Alan Michael Pulkkila 67, died Sunday, January 10, 2016. Born July 31, 1948. Craftsman of wood. Maker of things. Collector of friends. Live-er of life. Kind, gentle, thoughtful, quiet man. Laughed every day, loved same. Uncle Al. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 15, 2016, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Angeline Pulkkila; sisters, Bonnie and Diane; nephew, Jim Pulkkila. Survived by his wife of 26 years, Rachelle Ablah Pulkkila of Wichita; daughter, Jill Pulkkila of Ashland, WI; Jills mother, Kathy Ashmon of Odanah, WI; brothers, Bruce (Connie) of Onalaska, WI, Don (Shirley) of Hustisford, WI; sisters, Barbara Costello, Carlene Dahlman (Jeff), both of Milwaukee, WI, Sharon Adkins (Scott) of Blanco, TX, Sandra Leal (Leo) of Perris, CA, Cathy Ramirez (Rob) of Hawthorne, CA, Susie Rowan (Glenn) of Alta Loma, CA; brothers-in-law, Craig Ablah (Stacey), Christian Ablah, both of Wichita; sister-in-law, Leigh Ann Ablah (Eric Sims) of Wichita; in-laws, Don & Faith Ablah; nephews and nieces, Anne Marie, Kris, Angela, Darin, Dean, Denise, David, Michelle, Susan, Lisa, Eric, Shaun, Jessee, Fernando, Andrea, Rob, Rick, Blake, Carly, Olivia, Kamilla, and Jaida. In lieu of flowers, the Alan Pulkkila Memorial Fund (150 N. Belmont, Wichita, KS 67208) has been established, the priority for the funds is a new roof for Jills house in Ashland.
