  1. Sad to hear the passing of a great man! Alan did so much for Kansas Workers Compensation and bringing together medical providers, attorneys, adjusters and coordinating countless meetings over the years. Prayers for all family and friends.

  2. When I think of dad I think of movies. Whether it was setting up home movies to watch or spending an entire Saturday afternoon watching “flicks” back to back to back at the theater, dad loved movies. And he knew everything about the movies, too. Any sort of useless trivia whether it was the plotline, stars, characters or directors, dad could connect one movie to another. He was the original “6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon.” In fact, I will always remember that dad was stationed in Okinawa because of the Karate Kid. Dad also loved road trips. Whether it was across the state or across the country, dad was up for the adventure. But you had to be sure you were up for the adventure. Because if it was someplace dad had been to before…he would tell you the history of every building you passed! And beware of dad’s “scenic routes” if you have to go to the bathroom. In my adulthood I’ve admired my mom & dad’s commitment to our faith. I am thankful for our Catholic education and imagine the many, many hours prayed for us during their early morning adoration hour that they’ve kept over 30 years! Mom & dad almost made it 50 yrs together. We’re going to feel the loss of your presence, dad, but will always keep you in our hearts. Thank you for everything you gave us.

  3. I had the pleasure of knowing Alan Weldon for over 35 years. He was a true gentleman and Christian. He also had an encyclopedic memory regarding the history of KFL. This is a great loss for all of us. God bless Alan Weldon.

  4. Dear Vicki and family, Was so sorry to hear of Allan’s passing and just know you are in my prayers. When we moved to Wichita in 1965, Allan’s dad became our insurance provider, a wonderful family.

  5. We have fond memories of Alan in Catholic Alumni Club (CAC). He was a very kind and spiritual man with a gentle smile. He was such a gift to his family and friends. To Vicki and family, please accept our sincere sympathies. Greg and Karen Perkins

  6. I worked with Alan Weldon for many years in the insurance business. He was the first person to congratulate me when I received my CPCU. He was a true professional and a man of integrity.

  7. Vickie and kids, we want to extend you our sincerest sympathies on the loss of Alan. Our friendship with Alan goes back to Catholic Alumni Club days. At that time he was known as “Big Al” as he played the net on the volleyball team. It wasn’t that Big Al had a great love of volleyball rather he knew that girls liked volleyball. Our real memory of Alan is the tireless worker for the most defenseless among us. It is interesting that today’s paper that included his obituary also had a feature article on the history of abortion in Kansas. Alan lived that history and was one who spent countless hours working to defend the unborn. His determination and dedication to the unborn certainly earned him a place in heaven. He will be missed by many. John and Judy Marstall
