Dear Karen, Just a short note to extend my sincere sympathy. I know how sad you must be but I know Sgt. Funcheon has gone to a better place. I thank God for all the young men and women who defend and protect our freedom. My kindest regards, Karen Donahue
Monica and I send our sincere sympathy to you and your family, Bob. We will pray for you. We can’t think of anything to say that could possibly ease your pain in suffering every parent’s nightmare of losing a child. As Americans we thank you, your family and your son for his service to our country. Many of your former classmates at Lexington Catholic saw the obituary in the Lexington paper and are praying for you.
Dear Bob, Karen and family I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your son Alex. My prayers are with you. May the memories you hold in your heart bring you comfort in the coming days.
Bob, I was deeply saddened to see your son’s obituary in the Lexington Herald-Leader (but I do appreciate your letting us know). You must have been very proud of him and I know you will miss him very much. I will keep you and your family in my prayers – and pray that God will give you the strength to get through all of this. Give my best to your mother.
Dear Bob, I was saddened to read in the Lexington newspaper about your son. I am sure you are quite proud of him. It was a beautiful tribute to him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I hope you find comfort in knowing that I care – even though many miles separate us and many years since we last saw each other. Sincerely, Janet Faraci Lee
It was with a heavy heart that I read a Brother in Arms and fellow Kansan had given the ultimate and final sacrifice in the name of freedom, and for the United States of America. Having just returned from overseas in January I redeployed to Phoenix, AZ in February where I read of Sgt Funcheon’s death. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you and your entire family at this time of sadness. With Deepest Respects,
Dear Karen, My heart goes out to you and your family in the loss of your precious son. I know you must be so very proud of him; and I am as well. Please take comfort that your friend is thinking of you, and have directed many prayers each day to you and your family. Love, Phyllis Blanton
Bob, Karen and family: I don’t know that anything any human could say would actually ease your pain. But I know you all know One who can and does. Continually look to Him. Donna and I are praying for you for peace and comfort. God bless you and keep you.
