Amparo Goering, 86, “Professional Volunteer,” passed away on November 14, 2014. No local services are planned at this time. Amparo was immensely involved in the Wichita community, having served as a docent at the Wichita Art Museum, a tutor for the Wilbur Middle School, an interpreter for the Guadalupe Clinic, a volunteer for “Project Beauty,” and was a lifetime member of the Wichita YMCA. She was an avid gardener who also loved to travel with family and the “Friendship Force” and “Elderhostel” groups. Amparo is survived by her children, Sara Goering (Paul Rasch), of Solon, IA, Rebekah Goering, of Wichita, KS, Selma White, of Iowa City, IA, Carmen Loeffler (Kevin), of North Newton, KS; siblings, Abel Chvez, of Union City, CA, and Ivonne Heredia, of Stockton, CA; grandchildren, Jacob, Katie, Rachel (Rodney), Rebekah, Hannah, Samuel, Christian, Erin, and Robert; and great-granddaughter, Maya. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramiro and Carmen Chvez; husband, Dr. Robert C. Goering; son-in-law, Stan White; and siblings, Ramiro, Chela, Gerardo, Roberto, Rodolfo, and Cesar. Memorials have been established with the Wichita YMCA, 402 N Market, Wichita, KS 67202; Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W Museum Blvd, Wichita, KS 67203; and the Wichita Alzheimers Association, 1820 E Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214.
