Andres “Andy” Abasolo, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on December 13, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. Andy was a devoted husband, dad, papa, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth, music, and joy to everyone who knew him.
Andy had a deep love for music, especially playing the guitar. He shared his gift freely, blessing family and friends with countless moments filled with song, laughter, and heartfelt melodies. Music was not just a hobby for Andy; it was a way he connected with others and expressed his love. He was also known for his pride and joy: his classic Chevy, which he loved to show off and talk about with anyone who shared his appreciation for cars.
Andy’s legacy is one of love, family, music, and enduring memories. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Jay Abasolo and Mary Ruth “Ruthy” Abasolo; his siblings, Greg Abasolo, Jay Abasolo, Carmen Harshfield and Jana Abasolo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila; his sons, Steven (Lexi) Abasolo, and Ryan (Meagan) Oliphant. He was a proud papa to Steddler, Steeli, Beckett, Kanon, and Reagan, who were the light of his life. Andy is also survived by his siblings, Cecelia Newman, Eloisa (Wes) Bennett, Amelia (John) Austin, Connie Sayler, Cathy (Kurt) Richardson. His life will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 18, 2025, with Funeral Service at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 19, 2025, both at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.
A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Hospice Center, 313 South Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202.

Going to miss seeing him and sharing our love of classic chevy’s at the Friday night car show and many other shows I would see him at duringtheyear. He was a great guy.

I wish I could have known Andy longer. If you knew Andy, you could see why he has so many friends. He will live on in my memories.
