Nurnberger, Andrew C., 87, passed away in the Thunder Snow Storm on February 21, 2013. Andrew was born June 13, 1925, Long Island, New York. Andrew moved to Wichita in 1997 to be with his daughters after the death of his beloved wife Edythe L. Nurnberger of Farmingdale, New York. Preceded in death by his granddaughter Michelle M. Vitarelli, of Wichita Kansas. Andrew served his country in the Army as a Corporal during WWII. In France he was wounded earning the Bronze Star, Purple Heart other medals for his bravery. Andrew enjoyed the Andover Senior Center where he enjoyed pinochle, his favorite game. St Vincent de Paul Church also was a source for him to enjoy service and making friends. He resided at Regent Park, assisted living center, where he also found a great group of senior citizens and staff. Survived by his daughter Joanne (John) DiPrima, daughter Janice (Eugene) Vitarelli both residences of Wichita, Kansas. He also leaves his son Andrew (Nancy) Nurnberger of Abington, PA and Son Lawrence (Ann) Nurnberger of Stafford, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrea (Chris) Bramhall of Wichita, Kansas, Maxwell Nurnberger and Gennifer Nurnberger of Abington PA, and Sasha Nurnberger and Teagan Nurnberger of Stafford, VA. He leaves his first great grandson Christopher Joseph Bramhall of Wichita, Kansas. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Downing Lahey Funeral Home. The Viewing at Downing Lahey will be held on February 25th 26th. Rosary Service will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Andover, Kansas on Tuesday, February 26th at 7 P.M. Funeral will follow the next day on Wednesday February 27th at 10:00 A.M. Memorials have been established with St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Good Shepard hospice. Those we love dont go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. We love you Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa (GGPA).
