Angel Ignacio Cruz

angel cruz
Angel Ignacio Cruz passed away on June 26, 2021 at the age of 30, in his hometown of Wichita, KS. His battle with addiction ultimately took him from us far too soon but the courage he showed and the progress he made over the last few months of his life will forever be admired. Angel was born to Kathy Palacio on October 23rd, 1990 and was the 4th sibling of an eventual 8. After graduating high school in 2009, Angel sought to experience life the best way he could as a free spirit. During his journey he met someone who truly appreciated his light, Gemma. She would gift him his only child, a beautiful daughter, Ember. Angel loved spending time with friends and family. If he were invited to a gathering, you could count him in. He had a commanding presence when he entered a room, paired with his contagious smile and a hearty laugh that you could almost feel. He had a genuine personality that made him easy to bond with and want to be around. He recently discovered a love for weight training and aspired to start his own landscaping business. Angel is survived by his daughter, Ember; mother, Kathy; siblings, Martin, Michael, Teena, Brittany, Gabrielle, Antonio, and Nicolas; grandfather, Don; and loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be July 3rd from 8am to 8pm, July 4th from 1pm - 5pm, and July 5th from 8am - 7pm. Rosary July 5th at 7pm all at Downing and Lahey West Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be July 6th at 10am at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception with a luncheon to follow at SEIU Local 513. Located at 3340 W Douglas Ave Wichita, KS 67203.
