Anita Frey

Frey, Anita (Donoho), retired real estate broker, died Monday, March 24, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott, brother Tom Donoho and nephew Tom Donoho. Anita is survived by daughter, Nancy, of Wichita, sons, Rockford of Los Angeles and Jeffrey of Wichita; step-daughter Gail Young of Richmond, California; brother Stephen (Nona) Donoho of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law Jane Donoho of Wichita; niece Lisa; nephews, Thad and Jeff and many dear and close friends. Moving back from California in 1973 she started her company Anita Frey Real Estate, quickly developing it into the third largest real estate office in Wichita. In 1993, the company was purchased by Prudential Dinning Beard Realtors. Due to illness she retired as managing broker, January, 2011. Anita was recognized as a leader in the real estate industry. She introduced the concept of the “Open House” to the Wichita market and her firm was the first to offer the services of an in-house mortgage company- one stop shopping. She also formed a property management company to complement the real estate firm. She was an active member of the Wichita Area Board of Realtors, serving on many committees. In 1993 she earned the coveted Walter Morris Broker of the Year Award. Her trade mark cursive signature was the logo for her signs which were seen throughout the city. A celebration of her life will be at the Center for the Arts, 9112 East Central, 4:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2014.
