Ann Hamilton

Hamilton, Anna Marie (Lagaly), 80, entered eternal life on Monday, January 28, 2013. Ann was born to Peter and Anna Lagaly on August 24, 1932, in St. Mark, Kansas. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in St. Mark. She graduated from the Estelle Compton School of Modeling and entered various local beauty contests during the 1950s. Titles that she won included the Queen of the Threshermans Convention (1951); Indian Princess of the Sky Blue Waters (1952); and Wichita Shutter Queen (1953). Ann worked for the Boeing Company until the birth of her first child, when she began her career as a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and was actively involved at her church. She was a long-time member of the Magdalen Altar Society, serving several terms as an Officer and Director of the St. Elizabeths Guild. Over the years, she volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and supported many charities. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ralph; her parents, Peter and Anna Lagaly; her brothers, Joseph and Peter; and her sister, Marcia Betzen. Survivors include her brother, Cleo (Betty) Lagaly of Wichita; her sister, Marilyn (Francis) Werth of Wichita; her sons, David (Rhonda) Hamilton and John Hamilton, both of Wichita; her daughter, Lori (Eugene) West of Andover; her grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) West of Wichita and Lisa (Skyler) Johnson of Andover; and her great-grandchildren, Raegen and Caleb West. Rosary will be at 6:30 P.M., Thursday, January 31, 2013; Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 1, 2013, both at Church of the Magdalen, Wichita.
