Garufo, Anna May (Diffenbacher), 95, wife and mother, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011. Rosary service 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 13, and funeral service 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 14, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Anna May graduated from Great Bend High School and later Columbia University with a degree in Interior Design. She donated her time and energy to the Sisters of St. Joseph and to Blessed Sacrament parish and school. She also founded the Wichita Toy and Doll Festival which benefited multiple children advocacy groups in Wichita. Anna May was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bess (Soper) Diffenbacher, husband, James F. Garufo, Sr., and sister Irene Kelley. She is survived by a daughter, Maryann G. Donoghue (David), of Wichita; sons, James F. Garufo Jr., of Wichita, and Douglas J. Garufo (Lisa Robben), of Arlington, TX; sister, Merry Diffenbacher Allyen, of Tulsa,OK; grandson Max Conrad Garufo; nephew Terry Allyen; niece Gwendolyn Kelly Smith. Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Inc, 313 South Market, Wichita, Kansas, 67202 and the Wichita Childrens Home, 810 North Holyoke, Wichita, Kansas, 67208. Rosary service 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East
