Annette Marie Thompson, 68. Our sister, Annette Marie Thompson, a beloved child of God, left us to join her heavenly family early Monday morning, June 18th. This leaves us with great sadness but also joy as she is no longer in pain or constrained by her physical and mental limitations. We invite you to join us in celebrating her life, her renewed wholeness and reunion with those who loved and cared for her as a child now in the very presence of God. A graveside service will be held in Wichita, KS on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The grave site is located at Wichita Park Cemetery, 2500 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219. A memorial will be held at her home at Lufkin State Supported Living Center in Lufkin, TX on Wednesday, July 10th, at 10:00 a.m. A memorial in lieu of flowers has been arranged through the Volunteer Services Council at Lufkin State Supported Living Center* where Annette lived. Donations to benefit the Lufkin SSLC can be made in Annettes name to: Volunteer Services Council 374 Circle Drive Pollok, Texas 75969 Please join us for this life celebration and service of committal. *The Volunteer Services Council (VSC) is a 501 (c) (3) organization established to function in an educational and charitable manner to provide goods and services that benefit and enhance the lives of all people residing at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. Each year the non-profit hosts the Annual Sunshine Golf Tournament to raise needed dollars that support programs and projects. It also hosts "Santas Workshop" which provides a way for the community to ensure that residents have a meaningful holiday season. Funding is provided to the facility for resident outings and on-campus activities. The VSC adopts projects that are deemed vital to providing quality care and service in which state funding may not be available.
