Arthur Allen “Art” Krueger, 69, of Goddard, and a Robert J. Dole Veterans Hospital building maintenance employee, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019. Funeral Service, 1:00 pm, Friday, July 12, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Survivors: wife, Sharon; sons, Jeffrey (Sherri) Molde of Goddard, Michael (Debbie) Molde of Derby, Steven (Rhonda) Molde of Wichita; brother, Gary (Lois) Krueger of Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Gladys Krueger, and sister, Justine Hoppe. Art was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended the University of Cincinnati. At the age of 19, during the Vietnam War, he joined the United States Air Force where he served as a staff sergeant for four years. Arthur met Sharon when he was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas in 1971. Arthur didn’t shy away from the idea of becoming a stepfather and he and Sharon “Sherry” were married on December 20, 1974, in Wichita. Arthur cherished the role of step father to Jeff, Mike and Steve and never saw them as anything but his own children. Other surviving family includes Arthur’s grandchildren, Ashley Marie Molde, Keely Shea (Jake) Bean, Jason Michael (Erica Smith) Molde, Erika Nicole (Mike) Lowe, Kylee Renee Sorrells, Micaela Elizabeth Molde and Miranda Leigh Molde; great-grandchildren, Sophia Mrytle Lowe and Myles Kenneth Peterson; nieces and nephews, Michael Schraeder, Kip Schraeder, Kimberly Kirkland, Robin Stewart, Jereme Schraeder, Ryan Schraeder, Jessica Schraeder, Zachary Schraeder, Debbie Hopkins, Laurie Tenbrink, Carolyn Bonfiglio, Cindy Gardner, Gene Hoppe, Rodney Hoppe, Vicki Hoppe, Melanie Davison, Pam Danemayer and Kim Krueger-Eldridge.
