Schuetz, Arthur H., whose spirit now graces a better place, entered everlasting life on Wed., Oct. 6, 2010. He was 6 days shy of his 99th birthday. Rosary 7 p.m., Fri., Oct. 8, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Funeral Mass 11 a.m., Sat., Oct. 9, St. Catherine of Siena. Born in 1911 in Mercier, KS he was predeceased by parents, Conrad and Helena (Winderscheidt) Schuetz; sisters, Irene LaGrange, Sr. Irene Trompeter OSB; and brothers, Bernard Schuetz and Richard and Edward Trompeter. Arthurs beloved wife, Isabel, predeceased him in 2005. He is survived by his daughters, Janiece (Jay) Lies and Camilla (Robert) Hartman, both of Wichita, Kansas. His grandchildren who were so greatly cherished are Joseph (Linda) Lies of Wichita, Brandy (Steve) Collins of Lenexa and Alex (Amanda) Meyer of Portland, OR. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Melissa, William and Nathan Lies and Trenton and Ethan Collins. Arthurs elder sister, Alice Roeder of Nevada, MO, also survives him. All lived in the castle of his unstinting love and support. Arthur was a product of the best and highest values of his time and upbringing; he lived his life devoted to family and faith. His first response to learning of someone in trouble was, “What can I do to help?” He inherited his fathers mechanical aptitude, and as an adult was called the “family genius” for his clever and inspired solutions to household challenges. His innate talent for all things mechanical was recognized in his early years while working in the Wichita aircraft industry. He earned the title of senior tool design engineer at Boeing based on raw ability and inspired design solutions. He retired from Boeing in 1970. Above all his talents, Arthur was a man of honor and commitment with a gentle soul and charming, humorous ways. We will not see his like again. Arthur will be deeply mourned and greatly missed, but we know we shall embrace him again.
