Arthur L. Rutherford

Arthur L. Rutherford, 96, died April 26, 2016. Born in Parsons, KS on March 27, 1920 to Arthur W. and Ellen OConnor Rutherford. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Irene; sons, John (Janet) of Mahtomedi, MN, Charles (Joan) of Shelton, WA; Gary (Joan) of Indianapolis, IN; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Arthur entered military service from Parsons, KS during WWII and retired in August 1964. Wartime service included Italy and Korea. He also served in Japan twice and Germany. He was awarded numerous citations which include the Bronze Star and Army Commendation with Clusters. A rosary service will be at 7:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2016, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Parsons, KS. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Good Neighbor Ministries, 1329 S. Bluffview, Wichita, KS 67218.
