Arthur Lonborg

Arthur Charles Lonborg, 87, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015. Arthur Charles “Art” Lonborg was born May 8, 1928 in Evanston, Illinois. He was the only child of A.C. “Dutch” Lonborg and Edna S. Lonborg. Art attended Evanston High School and Northwestern University also in Evanston. He graduated with a degree in psychology and was a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He married Madelyn Carol Miller on July 19. 1952. He was a proud Navy man and served from 1950 to 1953 as a Lieutenant J.G. In 1963, Art, Carol and their three children relocated to Wichita, KS where Art was a Manager for the Equitable Life Assurance Society from 1963 to 1985. Art always enjoyed a good round of golf with his many friends and colleagues. For, there was never a bad day on the golf course. Art and Carol also enjoyed many lovely winters in Singer Island, Florida. He was a long-standing member of St. Thomas Aquinas in Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by M. Carol Lonborg. He is survived by Lynn L. Loveland (Mike) of Wichita; Art W. Lonborg (Emily) of Centennial, CO.; Laura L. Peterson (Paul) of Olathe, KS. He also enjoyed watching their seven grandchildren grow into young adulthood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to AC “Dutch” and Edna Lonborg Football Scholarship, Williams Education Fund, 1651 Naismith Dr., Lawrence, KS 66045. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 21st at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
