Arthur Wilhite, Jr.

Arthur Wilhite, Jr., of Penalosa, Kansas, entered into eternal life on April 22, 2021. He was born on January 31, 1925, in Arnett, Oklahoma, to Mattie (Rucker) and Arthur Wilhite. He was the oldest of 5 children. Arthur proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was part of the Allied Invasion at Normandy. He joined the Wichita Police Department in 1950 and retired in 1976. Arthur was married to Mary Lou (Strunk) on January 30, 1954, in St. Mark, Kansas. She preceded him in death. Arthur resided in Wichita, Kansas, until moving to Kingman, Kansas. Then the last year of his life, he moved to Penalosa, Kansas. Arthur was a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Brady (Scott); son, Tony (Trish) Wilhite; grandchildren, John Brady, Patrick Wilhite and Owen Wilhite. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, John, Charles, Wilma Taylor and Mary Jean. A Rosary will be held Tuesday April 27 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Mark Catholic Cemetery in St. Mark, KS. Memorials established with Wichita Police Benefit Fund, P.O.
