Barbara L. (Seck) Stohr

Barbara L. (Seck) Stohr, 68, former school teacher and office manager for the Kansas Department of Health & Environment, passed away March 14, 2017. Rosary, 7 p.m., Monday, March 20, Downing & Lahey West. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Barbara was born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. She received her undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Education from Kansas State University. Her passion in life was family and she devoted herself fully and enthusiastically as a wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, Vincent and Virginia Seck. Survivors: husband of 44 years, Thomas; daughter, Jennifer Sissell (Eric) of Wichita; son, Michael Stohr of Pasadena, CA; brother, Richard Seck (Kris) of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Conrad, Carter, Camden and Claudia Sissell. Memorial established with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and St. Patrick Catholic School, 2007 N. Arkansas, Wichita, KS 67203.
